Ashley did not start her career as a social worker, but she was always drawn to supporting people through tough times. Earlier in her career she worked with youth and adults involved with the criminal justice system, and then with families where there were concerns about abuse or neglect of children. It became increasingly obvious that social work was the right fit for Ashley, so she returned to school, earning her master’s degree in social work in 2012. She then joined Focus Rehabilitation Consulting (FRC), providing rehabilitation case management, social work services, and more recently, life care planning services.
Having been in case management roles in various fields since 2005, Ashley understands that for the best outcomes to occur, there must be a foundation of communication, collaboration, and trust with her clients. Her primary goal when providing case management is to ensure that her clients are heard, and that they have the information they need to make the choices that are best for them.
Outside of work, Ashley spends some mornings volunteering at the busy breakfast program at her son’s school. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, whether it be at the gym, yoga studio, or outside. She is a podcast junkie and always on the hunt for a new compelling listen. She and her husband have a wonderful son, though they are both trying to come to terms with the fact that he wants to play goalie in hockey.
Ashley is based in Barrie. Her curriculum vitae is available for review upon request.
